For Immediate Release: February 19, 2007
Planning is underway for Bet Havarim's third annual community Passover Seder on the first night of Passover, Monday, April 2nd at 5:00 PM at "Traditions at the Links", 5900 North Burdick St. in East Syracuse. A reception will held prior to the Seder.
Organizing and planning Bet Havarim's Passover Seder are committee members, Lynda & Jeff Fuchs, Helen Marcum, Marty Morganstein, Melanie & Jim Roth and Mel Shindler. "Recognizing that many Bet Havarim members as well as people throughout our Central New York Jewish community are not able to be with family on this most wonderful night we felt that conducting our Seder on the first night of Passover would be a wonderful way to gather as a community," said committee member Jeff Fuchs.
"As we gather on this first night of Passover to commemorate the redemption of the Jewish people from bondage and the Exodus from Egypt we will be conducting our Seder service from a traditional Passover Haggadah and, to that, we hope to be including additional prayers and readings of inspiration and spirituality to our service," said Bet Havarim Passover committee member, Melanie Roth.
Catered by "Yankel and Company" Bet Havarim's Passover Seder will feature a traditional Passover meal. A vegetarian option will be offered as well. There is a cost to attend, with a reduction for college students and children under 13.
Bet Havarim's Passover Seder Committee cordially invites members of the Central New York Jewish community to attend. "We know that our Passover Seder will be enjoyed by all those who attend," said committee member Marty Morganstein, "and we encourage everyone to make reservations for this blessed event."
Prepaid reservations are requested by March 26th. For information and reservations contact Helen Marcum at hrm4910-at-aol.com or by phoning 637-4647.
Bet Havarim is organized to promote and cultivate a love and understanding of our Jewish heritage, teachings, and values, and to ensure the continuation of the Jewish people. Our common strength is through communal worship, celebration, study, a commitment to Israel and its people, and the practice of mitzvoth by applying the principles of Judaism to the values and conduct of the individual, family and the society in which we live for the betterment of humanity.
