BET HAVARIM PLANS PASSOVER SEDER

For Immediate Release: March 16, 2005

On Sunday, April 24th at 4:30 p.m., Bet Havarim will host a Passover Seder at Traditions at the Links. Co-chairing the event are Anita and Robert Burrows. According to Anita Burrows, "We are planning our Seder for the second night of Passover so that our families and friends who have held their first Seder in their homes will be able to join us for what we know will be an enjoyable observance of Passover."

Robert Burrows continued, "This will be a family style Seder, where all present will have the opportunity to participate. We have a great committee who has been working on a simple Haggadah gathered from a variety of resources. Our hope is to share the holiday with one another and enjoy the special feeling that Bet Havarim has come to mean to its participants."

Other committee members include: Helen Marcum, Marcia Schotz and Mel Shindler.

The Seder will be catered by Yankel & Company and will include a traditional menu. Vegetarian food will be available upon request. The charges per person are: Adults $25, children ages 11-13 $15 and children 5-10 $10. Reservations are required and further information and reservations maybe made by contacting Helen Marcum, 637-4647 or email Seder_RSVP@BetHavarimSYR.org. Deadline for reservations is April 18th.

Bet Havarim is organized to promote and cultivate a love and understanding of our Jewish heritage, teachings and values, and to ensure the continuation of the Jewish people. Our common strength is through communal worship, celebration, study, a commitment to Israel and its people, and the practice of mitzvot by applying the principles of Judaism to the values and conduct of the individual, family and the society in which we live for the betterment of humanity.
