Bet Havarim's next Shabbat service will be conducted on Friday, July 15th, at St. David's Episcopal Church in Dewitt. Services at 7:30PM. Services are conducted by members of Bet Havarim's Shabbat committee and liturgy is sung and led by Bet Havarim's Cantorial Soloist, Hanita Blair. An Oneg Shabbat follows the service. The public is cordially invited to Bet Havarim's July 15th Shabbat service which begins at 7:30 PM.
Bet Havarim will be conducting a Retreat on Saturday, September 10, 2005 which will focus on Bet Havarim's future direction. Chaired by Harriet Tetley, Bet Havarim's Retreat Committee is planning the event which will be facilitated by Bill Redfield. The Retreat will be held at Alverna Heights, Fayetteville located off Route 290, near Green Lakes State Park. The discussion period will begin at 2 p.m. Following the discussion, a Havdalah service will be held. The retreat will end with a BBQ dinner beginning at 5:00 PM.
"We look forward to active and lively discussion of our future plans. The dinner will give everyone a wonderful opportunity to meet and enjoy an early fall day's outing," said Tetley. Committee member, Marty Morganstein, added, "We encourage all members of Bet Havarim to set aside September 10th. We encourage our members to plan to attend this most important event." Bet Havarim's High Holiday Committee also announced that Rabbi Deborah Waxman will be returning to conduct Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services on October 3rd and 4th, 12th and 13th. High Holiday services will be conducted at St.David's Church in Dewitt. Rabbi Waxman currently serves as Vice President for Governance at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in Wyncote, PA. "We are excited about Rabbi Waxman's returning to Bet Havarim to conduct our High Holiday services for the third year," announced High Holiday committee chairperson, Toni Meltzer.

St. David's Church is located on Jamar Drive. From the intersection off Maple Drive and E. Genesee St. in Dewitt (across from Wegman's) drive south on Maple Drive and take the third right turn on to Jamar Drive. The Church is located at the end of Jamar Drive with off-street parking available. St. David's is handicapped accessible.
